HINGE
1968

Acrylic on linen canvas stretched over wooden structure.

Description:
the wooden frame was constructed along similar lines to Thrust, but at the left-hand edge two up the rights were fastened. The remainder of the structure was two-dimensional.
The canvas was stretched and shrunk as with Thrust but it was found to produce a satisfactory shape,
stretching to be more carefully controlled with plenty of slack at the critical corners.

Exhibited:

Dates:
Commenced and completed late 1968.

Size:
60" x 30" x 8"

Sale:

Notes:
No masking tape was used in painting the final surface and the contours of the colours develop naturally from the stretched form.
